Not that you need to be told, but sleep is good for you (as long as you don't do it during lessons!). It boost your ability to problem solve, learn, concentrate and hold and manipulate information (working memory). So, don't skimp on it. Typically a 10 year old should be getting about 10 hours sleep, whilst a 16 year old needs a little less, around 9 hours. The main enemy of a good nights sleep now lies in the over stimulation of the brain often caused by TV, game consoles, computers, mobiles and the like. If you don't have a 'going to bed' routine, now is the time to devise one. Allow yourself time to unwind and switch off.
